The Bespoke Jewellery Process
This information is provided to simplify the process of ordering a bespoke piece of jewellery
Firstly an initial consultation takes place, this usually takes around 15 minutes and is to discuss the general idea of the piece, stones to be used, materials of choice, and of course an idea of the amount you would like to spend. There is no charge for this service and there is absolutely no commitment to proceed, this is just to give you a general idea and to see whether or not this option is one you’d like to pursue.
Where relevant we may prepare sketches as well as more accurate pricing based on various options that we have discussed. At this time anything can be changed, the design, materials, sizing, anything. Where CAD images are required we will ask for a €350 deposit at this time.
Once you’re completely happy with your design we will provide you with a written quotation, and a description of materials and stones to be used.
Before we proceed, a deposit of 50% is paid (less the €350 if already paid) , and then it’s all down to us. We will keep you advised along the way if there are any queries or issues arising, and of course you are welcome to drop in and have us answer any questions you may have.
Final payment is made upon collection. All our work is provided in high quality presentation boxes, and gift wrapped if required. Insurance valuation certificates are provided at no extra cost on all items over €1000.00 , just ask.
Other possible Charges and a few questions answered
Can I view my stones before I buy them?
Of Course! We keep a range of precious and semi precious stones in stock and can order and return any special stones you wish. However, where a stone is ordered for viewing and is then re-turned, a stone handling charge of €40.00 is incurred.
Can a mock ring of lesser materials be made for me, just so that I’m sure?
Yes, we can provide a mock ring for more expensive items. This is a finished piece of jewellery and is often as time consuming as the final item, so naturally some cost may be incurred. A mock ring is paid for in advance and is non refundable.
Does bespoke jewellery cost more than other hand-made jewellery?
Sometimes, where an individual design is created you may pay around 10% more for your individual piece. Where we are reproducing an item specifically for you it costs exactly the same as it would from stock, and of course there is no design charge.
